A lifelong reader and student of history, Ron Andrea was born in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas, and entered the United States Air Force in 1968.
During his thirty years of military service, he served in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, rose to the rank of colonel, commanding three different USAF Logistics Groups, and retired in 1998 as Deputy Director of Logistics for USAF Space Command.
He has visited or lived in all fifty United States and lived in five countries (visiting another thirty).
He now resides in rural Hanover County, Virginia, immersed in American colonial, War of Independence, and Civil War historic sites.
He writes historical and speculative fiction and Bible studies, and posts book reviews on goodreads.com and his blog: https://amatteroffancy.wordpress.com/.
He displays his watercolors with the Virginia Watercolor Society as well as local venues.
